Sammy's Ancaster

Sammy's is by far the best breakfast place in the Ancaster and surrounding area. The quality of the food is top tier, and the service is always friendly and efficient. It is one of the only places my wife can eat breakfast and not feel sick after. They also often offer a free sourdough upgrade on the weekends which is delicious. Lastly they never make you wait at the door to be seated, they acknowledge you almost immediately.

The ONE Mom & Pop restaurant in a sea of franchises at the Ancaster Wal-Mart Supercentre, it's always busy so I figured I'd check it out. I got the French Toast Special (eggs & 3 each Bacon, Ham, Sausage---yep, 9 chunks of meat) and 2 pieces of my fave; French Toast. My Chai tea came in a little teapot so I could add my own sugar (I prefer this) and moments later my hefty meal arrived...faster than any 'fast food' I've ever had but prob takes longer on busy days. It's a serious thing when breakfast is on 2 plates---both big plates! Like eating at your Mom's on a weekend, and tastes probably as good. Everything was well cooked, and although it was huge, the deliciousness pulled me through and I finished it. Price is mid range for a diner, mine approx 20, average 12-18 They have Omlettes, Eggs Benedict, typical morning fare plus a lunch menu with more; and breakfast is all day until close (4pm) Place is clean and well kept, service snappy & friendly. There's Wi-Fi to entertain yourself a few minutes while your belly settles... Nice place for family brunch, quick workday lunch or solo pig-out like me. I couldn't afford to eat here all the time but check it out if you're hungry for more than fast food places offer.

Found this restaurant while on Instagram and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It's about 30 mins from home but we wanted to try a new breakfast place. It was my daughter's birthday and she said she wanted to check it out too. We arrived shortly after 11 and the place was busy. Waited a few minutes to get a table and was greeted my the owners mother. Very pleasant. I decided I wanted lunch rather than breakfast and the waitress was nice about it. My husband ordered the meat lovers skillet, he said it was ok. He couldn't really taste the meat, it was chopped up too small and not a lot was in it. But he ate it. My daughter and I ordered the turkey club, very good. The only thing was there was no pickle on the side which I thought would go nicely with the sandwich. All in all, we enjoyed everything. If and when we go back, my husband can try another dish which I'm sure he will enjoy. I did notice a lot of regulars were coming and going as all of them greeted the mom of the place, who was the original owner. Check them out. Keep in mind, they are only opened from 8 to 4. Way to go! If you can afford to keep those hours, they are doing something right. Congratulations on your new location.

Amazing restaurant with great food. We tried the eggs Benedict florentine it was made to perfection. Our waiter was very accomodating and the service in general was top notch. A hidden gem in Ancaster. We will be coming again

A great place for breakfast or lunch. Very fresh and tasty food. excellent friendly service, good coffee, and a very welcoming neighbourhood place. Definitely recommend.

You absolutely owe it to yourself and your family to eat at Sammy’s. This Family Friendly, family owed restaurant has been serving breakfast, brunch & lunch for years. They managed to preserve the charm from their original establishment and add modern features to their new location....lots of windows to give that patio feel. I had the Benedict skillet (a limited time creation) and my wife went with the grilled cheese. The food was temperature hot right to the last bite. Careful, the skillets are hot! Jay has always been community minded always giving back to the community he lives in. You have tried the chains, now try the best! Lots of free parking and open 7 days a week, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful spot in the heart of Ancaster where you get to have a feel of what a great community it is in the area. The food was filling and great, and the staff was amazing, also had a chance to meet the owner.. very humble and down to earth. Support local, as businesses like these are worth having around!

Sammy’s has a new location. We never tried the original location but we had to try this new one. First time customers. We loved this place. Bright, clean, open and fast friendly servers. We ordered corned beef on rye and clubhouse on rye. Both were served up quick with great coffee. Can’t think of any downside of Sammy’s. We will return for sure.
